1/17/2021-Trail Report

Yes! We got a bunch of snow Saturday. Definitely got over the foot mark with the extra few inches from last night. It is very heavy snow but it will make a great base. The snow from last night is a bit fluffier than the snow on Saturday.

Andrew was out grooming the Okemo side Saturday night. Bernie got out there super early this morning (Sunday) to do the North Hill side and is completing the Ludlow trail system right now. Okemo side will have an additional few inches on top of the fresh groomed. The big plow pile wall of snow over by Pinnacle Rock on 127A where it crosses Commonwealth Ave has been cleared. Thanks, guys! Trails are in much better shape. Water bars have been pretty much filled in. Continue to ride with caution as it is still considered early season. With it being warm, the drag sometimes rolled the snow and made it chunky. Warmth can also bring out the water bars since trails still need to freeze up a bit more. Please remember to keep right. We expect the trails to be pretty busy today. Delicious burgers and hot dogs will be served at the Cook Shack with the nearby Cavendish Snow Fleas today and tomorrow from 11-3. Yum! Stay safe and have fun!

NOTE: There is a tree down on 127 in the Highland Views Rd area. Volunteers will be clearing it today. The groomer had to turn around there so the little bit left to connect to 12 is not groomed. You can get under the tree

Reminders:

  • The Ludlow Warming Hut is closed but the porta potties are there if you need them.

  • The Ludlow Country Store ("Squeels on Wheels") is closed so no easy gas in Ludlow.

Trail on North Hill this morning.
