03-08-2025 - Trail Report

Head for the hills! Sticking to the higher elevations is where it's at. The rain and warm this week took a toll, but we are still open! Get it while we got it before the next bout of warm hits us. Some portions are pretty good, especially in higher elevations. Trails are all marked yellow for caution on the app, even in the good portions, since you'll need to watch for possible water bars in all areas. Joey groomed the Okemo side (127/7) last night and Greg and Sue groomed North Hill this morning. Nice little sugar coating (dusting) happening right now. Gonna be a day for scratchers. Thank you, guys! These are their words:

Joey - "Trails are thin in town, but passable. Good snow on the mountain. Some water bars trying to open from RD78 to Station Rd. Filled them in, but they might open back up. Everything is as smooth as the snow would allow."

Sue- "Mixed bag." She also mentioned the trail down to Calcutta's has some ice and water bars and some ice on power lines.

Lunch Tip: Cavendish Cook Shack will be open Saturday from 11-2!

The Croncher's Warming Hut at WR41 will has free hot cocoa. ☕ Throw a log in the wood stove and warm up. Watch your step, little icy around it.

Groomer Tip: You may encounter a groomer on the trails at any hour so it's good to know what to do when you see one. The groomer is a lot less maneuverable and has the right of way. For the safety of both of you, it is much appreciated if you follow these tips. If you see the groomer heading towards you, pull safely off the side of the trail and wait for the groomer to go by. If you are stuck behind the groomer, wait until the groomer operator pulls over and waves you on to make sure you both know each other is there. Thanks! Makes a huge difference!

Pics from Joey & Sue. Thank you!
