02-16-2024 Trail Report

Writer's picture: SnowflakeSnowflake

Good news. Got a couple of inches of puffy snow to freshen the trails a bit on Friday and trails are open! It's even flurrying this (Saturday) morning. Bad news. Snow is not enough to go out grooming. There are areas of thin cover, ice, rocks, water bars but there are also stashes of decent coverage. Higher elevations are the best.

Next weekend, Saturday, Feb 24, we have a fun family event coming up! The Glow-In at the Hut! Pic is in the link, you'll see what we mean. We will make glow snowmen (snowmen with glow stick eyes), have s'mores by the campfire, and watch them come to life when it gets dark. Event is 3-6 pm. We provide the s'mores and the glowsticks and shovels. You can bring whatever add-ins for your snowman you want.

Paper maps are now available at Touch of Peace Farm on Corridor 127 (also by car at 413 South Hill Rd, Ludlow). Be ready with a paper backup in case your phone battery goes out.

Warming Hut has free hot cocoa. Feel free to stop by at the intersections of 127A & 127B, make a fire in the woodstove and sip your cocoa. Porta Potty's there as well.

Cavendish Cook Shack is open today. Yum!
