Ah, a nice smooth white carpet on the Okemo side (Corridor 127 and part of 7) is waiting for you thanks to the father/son team of Kevin and Joey. Thanks, guys! Their 14-hour shift had several trees and things for being the first time out on that side but they got it done! They also did the 2nd grooming the 127A trail. Should be pretty decent for early season. There are a few water bars left, but not a ton. As always, continue to ride with caution but it should be a beautiful day to get out there and ride, dress warm. Get it early as it feels like it could be a bit busy out there today. Warming Hut at the intersection of 127A/127B is open and has free hot cocoa. Get cozy and build a fire in the woodstove. Even has a porta potty.
All trails have been groomed this week with the exception of the "Darcy Trail" (feeder trail off of 127A that goes to town route 103), which remains closed. Restaurants down there will not be opening this season.
Calcutta's is open for food and drink, gas and now they also offer trailer parking. From Robin at Calcutta's ... "You can trailer into Calcuttas and get access from here. We are located at the Fox run golf course, access is up back behind the Maintenance building, gas is cards only and located to the right of maintenance) We have gas and oil, just let the bartender or myself (Robin) know and park respectfully. Gold stars if you swing thru for some food or a drink or two (after you’re off the trails, of course!)"
Cook Shack in Cavendish is open this weekend as well.
Hopefully, conditions will hold this week and we can have our Safety Check Day on the 27th!
Enjoy the ride.
