01-01-2025 - From Soup to Nuts

Happy New Year! While the warm weather was a bit disappointing as it melted nearly all of our snow, it did provide a great chance to clear away some fallen trees. On New Year's Eve, some Cronchers used the mild weather to clear trees at the back of Okemo (Corridor 7 from Route 155 to Healdville Rd.). Another group of us worked on tidying trails around Pinnacle and down to Calcuttas. We still have to check a few more trails on North Hill and a big wind is coming so there will probably be more trees down. Let us know if you see any. Trying to keep the trails clear so we are in good shape when we do get enough snow to groom. Bridge 12 finally got its name on it too. Thank you, volunteers!

It was 5mph fun with some great people on a beautiful day (quote from Greg).

Good news is that we received 1-3" of wet snow last night into this morning. At least we are heading in the right direction. More snow expected tonight and colder weather is coming. Trails are still closed, unfortunately. We need a bunch more snow to open. Please keep in mind that the Catamount Trail for cross country skiing will be going onto our trail (127) this season near Healdville.

Here are some pics from yesterday, 1/31, of the Okemo gang. Also included are a couple of shots from South Hill a few days before. Sorry, no pics of the Calcutta gang.

From "Soup" to "Nuts", we get it done! (Guess which is which)...

Thanks, for being part of us! Happy New Year! Think snow!
